The characteristics of heat transfer vinyl sheets with thick ink layer and strong coverage
Once upon a time, dark workpieces (substrates) were almost an area that the traditional heat transfer process did not want to touch. Due to the relatively thin ink layer of traditional heat transfer, when the pattern is hot stamped on dark workpieces, there are often such problems as bright colors, discoloration, and bottom penetration, among which discoloration is particularly serious. For example, when the pattern is hot stamped on a deep red workpiece, the blue part of the pattern will turn purple-red, etc. According to previous process experience, white will be used to separate the underlying color of the substrate and the impact on the pattern, and the darker the color of the substrate, the more layers of white will be used (up to three layers of white). In addition to increasing the cost of plate making, it often increases the difficulty of overprinting, thus affecting the quality of the transfer film.
Now, with the advent of high-definition heat transfer vinyl htv, this difficulty in the process has been solved. The ink layer of the high-definition transfer film mainly consists of printing ink powder, and the thickness of the ink layer can be as thick as about 30m. The color of the formed pattern is full, the ink layer is thick, the three-dimensionality is strong, and it has high coverage, which can meet the requirements of colored substrates for coverage, even for dark workpieces, which can perfectly reproduce the pattern.
With its unique characteristics of full color, thick ink layer, and high coverage, the high-definition heat transfer vinyl sheets will eliminate the difficulty of color change in dark workpieces in the heat transfer process.
The characteristics of high-precision overprinting and color reproduction of heat transfer vinyl sheets
With the improvement of social life and the increasing development of science and technology, people’s requirements for image pixels are gradually increasing, which leads to higher and higher requirements for the clarity of some industrial products’ patterns. However, at present, traditional printing technology (especially traditional heat transfer technology) still has a certain difficulty in perfectly reproducing the design draft, which is mainly due to many links such as plate-making technology, printing technology, and post-processing, which will cause the design draft to be unable to be perfectly reproduced.
In real life, some high-end cosmetics, gifts, crafts, etc., have extremely high requirements for the clarity of their product patterns and logo colors. The high-definition heat transfer vinyl sheets are born to reproduce the design draft. The decoration pattern of a cosmetic product can never meet the design requirements of the traditional transfer process, whose clarity and coverage are not strong enough. But the high-definition heat transfer vinyl sheets adopt stable and reliable printing technology, such as electronic photography, to print natural and realistic pure color and mixed color, accurately reproduce clear and sharp details, and perfectly reproduce the design draft.
Chemical resistance testing of heat transfer vinyl sheets
When testing the quality of printing, the chemical resistance of the printed pattern is an unavoidable problem for the printing industry. Therefore, the manufacturer of high-definition heat transfer vinyl sheets has carried out several tests on the chemical resistance of the high-definition heat transfer vinyl sheets.
(1) The substrate printed with the high-definition heat transfer process was tested with 99% pure laboratory alcohol, hexane, and cleaning powder respectively. First, a cotton cloth soaked in alcohol was used to wipe the pattern on the substrate back and forth for 60 seconds, and the pattern on the substrate was intact.
(2) Then, a cotton cloth soaked in n-hexane was used to wipe the same printing surface back and forth for 30 seconds. Under the joint action of alcohol and n-hexane, the pattern was still intact.
(3) Finally, a cotton cloth was used to smear the cleaning powder and repeatedly wipe back and forth on another printing surface of the substrate for 30 seconds, and the pattern was still intact.
Based on the excellent performance of high-definition heat transfer vinyl sheets in chemical resistance testing, some substrates that were originally printed using other printing technologies have now begun to use high-definition heat transfer technology, such as bottle caps, perfume bottle caps, cream jar caps, and other substrates that may come into contact with alcohol or chemicals. The excellent chemical resistance of the high-definition heat transfer vinyl sheets can protect their “beautiful coat”.
